I think that’s all I’m going to manage this year! I’ve got a family event to prepare for this week, so I expect I won’t have much free time. At least I beat my review count from last year. Another really strong competition - I played a lot of games which are likely winners.
One more review for the road:
Uninteractive Fiction [2] (Leah Thargic)
Played on: 2nd Sept [11th October]
How I played it: Online via the IFComp ballot
How long I spent: 10 seconds, one losing [winning] ending
There’s usually one game that captures the attention of the IFComp judges right out of the gate, for better or worse, and this time it’s Uninteractive Fiction [2]. I always miss out on these, so this time I ignored the personal shuffle and went for it. The blurb says “the only winning move is not to play [This time everybody wins].” There’s a PLAY link; you click it and it says “You lose [win]” and plays a sad trombone [triumphant orchestra] effect. I downloaded [opened] Twine to check the source code, and - Wait, sorry, the bit’s been derailed, I actually did just open it in Twine to check it and the whole thing’s been encrypted with a message saying “Good Luck Importing This.” That’s very good, well played. This review is over
EDIT: okay I went back to it and tried too hard. Very very good. Yes it does look like a skull, it made me jump a little bit
