Wondering briefly whether you should have kept the dictionary after all you wonder what to do next.

(I dislike games that say stuff like that but don’t mean to say that there was an alternative way to do that, because there wasn’t and this is just “flavour text”. I’m just wasting time looking for an alternate solution that doesn’t exist. IF and adventure games have taught me that those words are code for “you screwed up; best restore a saved game”)

That’s usually the point where i just kill the player. Nothing says “took the wrong path” like a messy death screen
