I’m exploring interactive fiction games to help shape the design of my own interactive game project. I’m mainly looking for Twine or other text-based games that tell their stories from multiple perspectives in a third person, narrative driven style with strong storytelling. I prefer choice based games that give players meaningful control over the story and character relationships. I’m especially interested in games set in ancient, Bronze Age, or medieval worlds where politics, warfare, and personal stories are closely tied together. I want to see how writers handle detailed combat involving sword fighting, grappling, and close battles, and how they make those scenes feel vivid through text alone. I’m also curious about games that include strategic or tactical warfare elements, where choices in command or diplomacy influence the outcome. Overall, I’m hoping to find story-rich, choice-driven games that balance narrative depth with strategy and emotional impact to see how I could possibly implement these features into my own game
The game doesn’t need to have all of these features just one or more is enough .
I believe Sryth is the closest game I’ve ever encountered to what you are describing. I played it 10-15 years ago and got pretty far. It is an independent browser-based text game, not associated with any platform.
I don’t know why it doesn’t have a working https version of the website (that I saw when I just checked). But even if you just look through screenshots of it, I think you’ll see what I mean. The setting is very rich and deep, choices are meaningful, and there’s a pretty interesting storyline to work your way through. Combat is interesting and good for a text game from what I remember.

I found it is it a mmorpg? I really like the design of the website I’m going to sign up and check it out. If you know of any games with even one of these elements I like to check it out . If it’s one element please also tell me the way it’s implemented in the game . I’m not talking about technically I mean like in its gameplay aspects .
It was primarily single-player, not an mmorpg but the creator had a unique paradigm where you could tell if other players were in the story in the same scenes or zones you were. I vaguely remember seeing other players in taverns or something, but I don’t think I ever actually talked to any other players and am unsure that was even a feature. My memories on this are very vague. It was a lifetime ago. And if the guy continued development on it, the game could also have changed from what I remember too. Lore was very strong in the game and well done.
