Me: how ridiculous.
Also me: I would kill or die for a heat-changing mug that went from happy Aggretsuko to raging Aggretsuko.

Fun fact: A Pronouncing Dictionary of American English, which renders American English words in the International Phonetic Alphabet, including regional variations, often cites Southern and NYC accents as sharing a variant. This blew my mind at the time, but, yeah, they’ve both got the -er ➜ -uh thing.
The moral of this story is that there’s a lot going on in accents that’s at a level of granularity way beyond what the IPA captures, and also that I’m a ginormous nerd, but y’all knew that. (I’m also from New York (state) and also have worked to excise “guys” as a generic from my speech.)
