Also, I’m glad to see people rating the game on IFDB! I just reviewed it, and it’s gone from 16 reviews to 20 in the last month, which I think is good for a high-quality game with a lot of work put into it.

My follow-up post about the scavenger hunt was a victim of the forum outage, so reposting the transcript of this convo with Zuleika:

>show fish skeleton badge to zuleika

Zuleika recognizes the badge: “Yeah, I have one of those. It’s on my corkboard at home. Do you know the whole backstory with the fish skeleton?”

She tells you the whole backstory with the fish skeleton: "There’s this guy, he goes by ‘Tangler,’ but I think that’s his internet name. The skeleton is his insignia. He came around here last year to set up a little scavenger hunt. When that girl Anita found out what he was doing, she started looking for the clues and taking them down. So he put them back up. So she took them back down. I think she saw herself as the steward of the park, and thought she had to protect it from vandals, even though it’s the kind of thing she’d have done herself if she had thought of it. Maybe she thought the fish skeleton design was disrespectful. Maybe she was just jealous.

“And possibly she realized that herself, because she gave up on dismantling the scavenger hunt before Tangler gave up on reassembling it. I ended up talking to him a couple times. He was a weirdo. But I did finish his scavenger hunt, so.”

>a tangler

“He had that college-freshman-comes-back-home style of confidence, the same way Anita did. Boys kind of wear it differently than girls do, but I think it’s the same underlying ethos.”

Thanks for sharing this playthrough! Seeing this reminded me I had this game on my list so I went and played it, it’s interesting to see the different orders we did things in. You found a lot more badges than I did!

I stumbled on this serendipitous new addition to my local library’s collection and it made me smile.

Woo!!

(Is it completely confirmed there aren’t more than 18 badges? I was interested if there are some easter egg ones…)

I wouldn’t be surprised if there are more that no one has discovered yet!
