To answer this question, an anecdote:
I half-woke up to roll over in bed this morning, well before my alarm went off.
Immediately, my brain seized the opportunity to think about Stuff I Still Need To Do.
An hour later, my alarm still hadn’t gone off, and I had everything mapped out: what the unknown scrolls would do, how they would make the chase scene even more complicated but maybe manageable, what to do with a not-yet-introduced NPC, how to get to the final showdown, what options the player would find there.
Acceding to the inevitable, I got up, made breakfast and lunch for my wife, and did what any writer, firmly gripped in the hands, nay the arms of any muse would do:
I filed a bunch of bug reports.
And then, naturally, spent forever working on one from yesterday.
I am going to die.
