Hello,

Interactive fiction is significant as it merges the digital revolution with the literary tradition of telling stories. I am interested in uncovering the correlation between interactive fiction and literary genres. The term evokes a connection to the novel. Indeed, there are many novels that have been adapted to interactive fiction. Thus, I would be keen on finding out if there are poems or short stories that resonate with interactive fiction? And, how do the various elements of fiction relate to or become adapted into interactive fiction-including setting, characterization and so on?

This is maybe the other way around, but… Parser poetics in Portrait With Wolf – The Rosebush (you might try playing some of the game first; it’s not terribly long).

Emily Short’s 2021 article Plot: It’s a Problem talks about some of the ways that plotting is a similar problem in interactive and static media…

I don’t know if either of those are what you’re looking for, but they were a couple of things that came to my mind
