Interactive Fiction Games (For People Who Hate Reading)

Suveh Nux is pretty wordy so I don’t think that one would work. free bird. is great though so I second Josh’s suggestion - it requires extrapolation and reading between the lack of verbs but the story is uplifting and the puzzles are simple.

A few more titles with terse writing (sometimes you must get past the intro before it gets terse):
Detectiveland, 4x4 Galaxy, Leadlight, Black Knife Dungeon, Deeper

Thinking about this made me add the tag “terse” to the above titles on IFDB. No other games have the tag “terse” yet. I think this thread shows that “terse” can be a quality though also depending on the player’s preferences. If people disagree, I can quickly remove the tag again.

Terse IF. I love it!

It’s not about sacrificing quality. It’s not about a game/story being short either. Concise, efficient writing needs needs more recognition.

I know this is an old thread–it’s just interesting and if you don’t know these games I hope you like them. Here are some games by Porpentine that fit your criteria (I’ve played Seedship so I think I have a sense of what you were asking for). Porpentine’s writing blows me away on a regular basis, and it’s exactly what you’re saying–concise and efficient. And beautiful.
