How to start game in a room other than the first room mentioned

I’m working on a room and I don’t want to go through all the rooms between the starting room and that one to test it out. This would be a temporary thing for testing purposes only and I would change it when working on a different room and then delete it when I’m finished making the game. Is this possible?

Sure, easy to do:

The player is in the lab. [Or whatever room you want them to be in]

(Of course if you’ve defined a PC other than the default, you’d just put them wherever you want them to go, e.g. Colonel Mustard is in the lab).

Thank you!

If you’re just using it for testing purposes and you’re testing in the IDE (or any other debug-enabled build), you can just type “gonear [room name]” (no brackets) at the command prompt ant the player will be transported there. (This, of course, does not work in the build for release version.)

That poor command prompt ant, who has to carry letters fifty times his own weight all the way into the parser! :disappointed_relieved:
