There are a lot of numbers over in this thread but a better algorithm for abbreviations could save about 1k extra. The OP:s algorithm seems to primarely be much faster.
(I don’t know how abbreviations work in Inform6 but shouldn’t this be something interesting to include into the I6 compiler also?)
