Getting the text that a rule produces

Hello! This is my Ryan Veeder-ized alias.

I would like to take the results of a rule such as the “announce the pronoun meanings rule” and capture it in text.

I tried:

A persnickety librarian shouts, 'NOUNS!' and a small toad says 'PRONOUNS!'

A voice booms, saying: [boomaction].

To say boomaction:
	carry out announce the pronoun meanings rule;

or

To say boomaction:
	carry out announce the pronoun meanings;

or

To say boomaction:
	announce the pronoun meanings;

Any suggestions?

Try the extension Text Capture by Eric Eve! I think it does exactly what you want. You can “start capturing text”, then until you “stop capturing text”, anything output will be saved to “the captured text” instead of bring printed to the screen.

The phrase is “follow … rule”, so

To say boomaction:
	follow the announce the pronoun meanings rule.
