I think this thread does highlight a mostly unexplored area for text adventures/IF. There are lots of games where you escape from a prison cell and then have to evade recapture by the guards in the prison complex itself; often involving disguises or perhaps just not bring attention to yourself by carrying contraband. But there aren’t that many where evading capture outside the prison walls is involved. It’s usually just a case of making sure you leave the prison grounds with relevant papers, perhaps a compass and a suitable disguise, and then the game ends.
A game where you had to escape from a WWII prison camp and then make your way across Germany/France, working with the resistance, bluffing your way past security checkpoints, fudging the language, until you get make it to the border of a safe country, would be really interesting.
