Is 27 shadows on the mirror?
@alyshkalia has correctly identified #18, and @EJoyce has found a correct alternative for #27 (I had Breakfast in the Dolomites).
Just checked this one out, and the opening location is “Battlefield”.
#30 is almost certainly the most obscure one on the list. (@mathbrush has reviewed it, but as @Jamespking points out, that doesn’t narrow the field very much).
The title of #12 is A Train to Piccadilly and you people should play it as it is a hard puzzle game and only has 5 ratings on IFDB, making it the least played inform game of mine, ever.
Ps: the letters in the room name are countries, as you travel the world a lot. More than one world, actually.
This is a cool iniciative, I like It. I have answered offline and have 10 bull eyes.
Did you get any that no-one else has got yet?
At least one poster in this thread is the author of a game that’s not yet been identified. I can’t tell if they’re just being sporting and letting others have a go or genuinely didn’t recognise their own game!
I genuinely didn’t realize! For 90% of the game’s development, it started in a different room (a transit hub), so I didn’t even think about it (#16, right?)
I thought it was Once and Future for a second, but that doesn’t seem to be it.
Once and Future starts with “Barracks, at the card table”. I cut a couple from the list (including that one) to make it an even 30.
30 might be the English version of Entre les Lignes de Feu by paraaviaar?
It’s not the one I was thinking of, but I’ll take it if it fits! However, I can only find reference to that game in French and Spanish - do you have a link to an English version?
Here it is: Between the Lines of Fire by paravaariar.
While I was on the page, I checked. It’s not a fit. It starts in The Forest.
Here’s the list of all the ones which haven’t been identified yet:
13. << Chief's office >>
21. Your House
22. In Your Tent
24. Cell
25. Studio
28. Outside
30. No Man's Land
If anyone would like some (fairly oblique) hints:

→ Once and Future ?
I already mentioned upthread that the starting location of Once and Future is “Barracks, at the card table”.
I figured shadows on the mirror was probably too deep a cut to be the actual intended answer, but it occurred to me it might fit, so I thought I’d throw it out there! It’s an odd game and I don’t know if I’d necessarily recommend it, but it’s stuck with me.
Is 25 A Day for Fresh Sushi?
I’m trying to think what the other “SpeedIF”-tagged game could be—there aren’t a lot of speed IF games that are noteworthy enough to make it into something like this, and some of the ones that are that noteworthy don’t have the tag.
@EJoyce has correctly identified #25, leaving only six to go!
Oh, also, one of the six games still unguessed was given earlier as an incorrect guess for a different opening location.
Wait, 24 is The Dreamhold!
Yep!
When I wrote the list, I actually intended 24 to be Lock & Key, but I realised early on that The Dreamhold was also a correct answer and probably more likely to be found ( especially after @mathbrush guessed it for 23), so I wrote the clues up above as if that was the one I’d always intended.
Five to go!
oh hey I managed to guess more than I expected!
Is 28 Lost Pig/? Though surely there’s other games that begin Outside. (My first thought was Search for the Lost Ark, but that one starts Outside Church.)
