Endymion commentary/hints thread

Answer is in the spoiler below:

It’s the chunk of ceiling that just says “here” – the shiny square on it that should also include the name of the room is broken.

Or to answer more conceptually:

The message you want to transmit is “this-ship Europa is-located”, or zoqradozhe zria-rez-ruag-gho-leq-rez-gho o.

OK, got it! Because I had transmit/receive as go/return, had some trouble with the end, but it’s all good. I have to say I’m just floored by the amount of work done in this game in that tiny time period, and my issues would largely have been avoided if even a little bit of testing had been allowed. Amazing work, @Draconis

Finished! Last step I needed some help, both THINK and when that didn’t completely help (I thought “alien artifact” just referred to the device so I was sending messages about it, oops) I did eventually look at the invisiclues for clue 7 up to 7.6 (one that tells me what the transmission says). Once I saw that I figured out the last word I needed as I’d figured out the others.

Summary

I’m looking through other hints in the thread now, and I see some of the guesses I got wrong, but since I didn’t have the left disk/right disk translation fully right I thought I was going to either be teleported somewhere or have the whole ship teleported somewhere, based on what the red sphere kept telling me, maybe by the aliens to wherever they were. And I thought there’d be some sort of timing-based aspect to the jump because of how the spheres keep beeping a few times and then showing a message.

Like some other people I’m seeing now, left disk/right disk and the chamber were things I had wrong translations for. Without those, I didn’t quite understand either sphere functions. I also took a bit of time figuring out the verb for the coil.

But this is a really interesting puzzle I was quite invested in solving! Probably just some small tweaks. I’m amazed this got done in such a short period of time.
