Wow! That’s a record isn’t it? So glad to see Ectocomp going strong. One of my fav comps of the year

Yeah, by a huge margin! Last year had 48, the year before had 36, and before that, 20-30 had been the norm for a while.

This is why I got my win in when there were only six entries :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Also, we have 2 in French and 9 in Spanish.

Numbers are not important; what is really nice is to see previous participants being available in new languages <3 <3 <3

Also, usually all those ECTO games are usually smaller in size, so I hope 62 is still a manageable number.

You know, it is fine every year to be bigger and bolder! But we all know that for playing time more than 23 is then more like a chore XDDD but 62 small games is just like that, a Halloween evening eating a lot of candy and chocolates!

There are 29 LGG games, which I assume are mostly longer. So that’s as many long games as the entire contest from a few years ago (judging by the above).

Map for Oz the Great and Terrible:

22 rooms total, though intro/end are informational

I will have an IFDB review up shortly. I wasn’t clear on what triggered the ending, but it’s worth noting I at first checked the witch only once. I’d enjoy replaying to see what specifically triggers the ending.

Hey people!

Don’t forget to use the hashtag ectocomp2025 in your social networks to spread the word of the comp, or your own games!

Thanks!

(Also, if you make a stream, brag about it here so we can easily retoot and retuit). <3 <3 <3

A minor update: One game (Non-humain by BenyDanette) has been moved from the La Petite Mort category to Le Grand Guignol. ECTOCOMP’s policy for games written in under four hours and then translated to a different language is that they’re no longer eligible for LPM, given that the total time for game creation plus translation is over four hours. So because Non-humain was originally written in French for a different speed-IF event, then translated to English for ECTOCOMP, the English version is an entrant in the LGG category. This means there are actually no French games this year (sorry, Rovarsson!).
