Dolcett cover art discussion

Also: I do have to say first of all that I do believe this game’s cover art was created with AI; it appears in fact to be traced over a collage of AI-generated images, which is something the commercial artist credited seems to specialize in. Therefore my actual “vote” on this is “I think this needs to be disqualified under rule 4”.

I also got that impression when I first looked at it, but I’m assuming the IFComp organizers have their own determination process going on behind the scenes—before the comp went live they asked me about the source of the silhouettes in THE RAT’s cover art, for example, to make sure they weren’t AI-generated.

(They weren’t, as far as I know, but they’re not my own work; they’re from a free stock image collection.)

@Sequitur

I’d suggest asking your artist for the original process files for the image, including any reference photos as well as any sketches showing how the figures were originally drawn. I strongly suspect the artist won’t be able to produce them.

I ask in full sincerity—SS2087 mentioned that the artist already provided the line art. Is there any specific reference or file they could provide that would distinguish traced AI images from actual art?
