Choice-based games with high player agency?

The Cookbook is supposed to be that (which can be edited by all on Github), maintained by the community. But it hasn’t updated in a while (between the updates of Twine and the different formats, older maintainers leaving the community and the newer ones not knowing it was possible…).
(IIRC the Twine Committee at the IFTF are/were busy with a book form of the Cookbook a while back? I think it’s supposed to come out soon?)

Maybe linking the Twine Resource Masterlist there even
Could be something to send the Twine Committee…

It’s supposed to be pinned, so if you go on the Twine category, it should be one of the first post there.

I think the way pinning works is that once you read the topic, it gets unpinned - which is helpful for like announcements but less so for references.

@HanonO isn’t there a pin that is forced forever? The COG forum has that.

Aha, Twine News, looks like it only ran from November 2018 through February 2019, and it wasn’t very prominent on the homepage but imagine if it was? I always thought they should have done more of that.

Look, I just read by latest, how am I supposed to know that I should look in the Twine category for Twine help? :stuck_out_tongue:

Hanon had a post about how to unset that (which I can’t find right now?), but there’s also a forum setting to make pins stay by default, and they may have turned that on at some point?

But if you want to turn it off for you, then click your avatar, then the person icon on the right side, then in Preferences > Interface > Other there’s a checkbox for “Automatically unpin topics when I reach the bottom.”

'Tis pinned forever. Remember if you read the entire topic the forum un-pins it for you as an individual, but it remains pinned for anyone who hasn’t read it. You can re-pin it again, or hit the bookmark icon to save it in your bookmarks tab for good.

Not exploring the different categories of the Forum, with its great tagging system and search function :scream:
