i can rarely upload a game to borogove with succcess (“error uploading the game. please try again”).
this has been going on for a while and i was wondering if there’s an alternative?

Perhaps the problem could also be reported as an issue on the Borogove repo?
yes, and it will work for a while. but then it will stop working again. the problem is that it’s unreliable which is why i was asking about an alternative.
If the game is on if-archive, or some other location where a direct link to the file can be obtained, you can use https://iplayif.com/ to create a play link.
An alternative for editing, or for hosting? There are a lot more options for the latter than the former.
hosting. i can’t upload a new game and none of my current games will play on borogove. oodles 'o error messages.
For hosting, https://ifarchive.org/ and https://itch.io are the main ones I see in this community. The former is better for long-term preservation, but it takes a few days to upload a new version, while the latter lets you upload and test new versions instantly, but has less of a long-term guarantee.
i’m already using itch as my “front end” so i guess i can run the .zx files through parchment and make them available for online play on itch also. i’m guessing this is what borogove is doing anyway behind the scenes.
seems like i recall doing this at some point in the past with an Aa-machine game using the javascript interpreter.
Ah! For that part, try IFSiteGen.
