Booktasy:

You aren’t bringing me down or anything, I’m glad to be receciving feedback, but you are being a bit overly harsh right now since: The system had a problem with string matching where there were no synonyms. It has nothing to do with the player not being able to speak with an npc, the player can and should do that, it’s just that the old system needed a fix because the user up there tried a command like “>talk to wizard”, instead of “>talk to old wizard”. I apologize for the lack of synonym integration. I am already in the process of fixing it.

It’s not that I didn’t play IF, the reason I ask for the basic conventions is because I would like to see what different people think about the different conventions of the medium. It may be that I can implement a better shortcut than the used usual so that’s worth asking around for suggestions. Also, making the system understand shortcuts for commands is extremely easy to do, in my excitement in announcing it I forgot to put an “=” in the most basic functions and for that I apologize again.

Another thing though which is very important to discern is that the IF script and the system are two different things. Booktasy isn’t bad just because the example story was lacking some features, in Booktasy the programmer can implement their own special interactions and even override basic interactions, so yes, it was my mistake but far from being a whole system issue.
