Best way to incorporate abbreviations for Z-machine using Inform 7?

What would be the best way to take advantage of Z-machine abbreviations when working within Inform 7? As far as I can tell, the I6 compilation switch to generate abbreviations does so, but only produces a list of them in standard output; this list must be incorporated into source code in order for the generated abbreviations to take effect.

Since nothing of abbreviations seems to be exposed at the I7 level, my current thinking is that it will be necessary to capture the output from a command-line I6 compiler invocation and add that to the I7 source as an I6 inclusion, followed by re-compilation with the IDE. Is there a better way to go about this?

That’s pretty much it.

(But I suspect that if you’re really hard up for Z-machine space, switching to I6 will be a way better deal.)

Agree with Zarf.

I use Inform 6 and ZILF for z* work and I7 for glulx work…
