Are we at the stage where AI is the intended audience for AI yet?
It’d be like, ok, you guys stay in there and have your fun, and stay as long as you like, and there’s no need to come out, like, ever. Enjoy.

If much more AI slop leaks into the wild, we’re soon going to be at the point where most of the training input for large AI models will be output from other AI models. There has never been a successful case of “garbage in, gold out,” but that’s not going to stop a lot of companies from trying.
I kinda like those. Or at least, don’t dislike them. They fit well with what was being done at the time. I’ve certainly seen much worse.
I personally don’t see Planetfall as being particularly suited for a graphical adventure, though, for some reason, dunno why. But the graphics and presentation shown here were, well, par for the course. Cartoonish, to be sure.
EDIT - Robots were a pretty safe bet at the time, since the state of the 3d animation and rendering lent itself well to them… they don’t even look ugly to my eyes. They’re not gorgeous, but…
Sadly this is already a thing. Depending on whose estimates you believe, there’s reporting that anywhere from 25% to 50% to 75% of internet content is already AI generated. The LLM ouroboros is already eating its tail.
I have to say, I’m not impressed by the AI visuals or the AI script. I turned it off around when he confidently claimed that the butler in Moonmist is named “Jeeves”. If I wanted to know what ChatGPT thought of Infocom games, I could ask it myself.
Apparently, the creator plans to cover the rest of the Infocom canon. Also, the creator apparently uses “retardation” unironically, and complains about things being “woke.”
You watched more of it than me. I skipped around the video for a couple minutes, but couldn’t stand the cheesy AI. Glad to know I’m not missing anything worth watching.
I didn’t even open the link, so thanks for confirming that was the right course of action.
I guess “woke” is the new (insert homophobic slur).
How unfortunate.
EDIT - Coincidentally, I’m digging through ZZT and MegaZeux looking for some nice indie gems. There are some, but sadly there is also a lot of teens thinking it’s funny to call whatever they don’t like a homophobic slur, and using the same R-word, and well, my point is, feels like nothing’s changed and some cesspits are still exactly the same, 30 years on.
Wait 'til he gets to A Mind Forever Voyaging.
Not quite. “woke” is a way of saying, “I’m tired of being told that I have to consider other people’s feelings and thanks to the current political climate I don’t have to pretend to try anymore.”
However, the hatred and contempt they fit into the word sure reminds me of how they used to say those other words. And it was like, everything was a (insert slur), especially stuff they didn’t like, and they would casually announce death to the (slur) (we’re talking 13, 14, 15 year olds, I believe). So “woke” isn’t quite there yet or heading the same direction?
EDIT - I’m speaking a bit generally I suppose, as I didn’t watch this video and don’t know how the creator uses the word. But I sure usually hear it with vitriol.
EDIT - I admit that, much as I have no desire to watch the video, I find myself curious as to what exactly he considered “woke”. And in which games.
I’ll just leave this here.
