A Vital Update for Even Some More Tales etc

A recent nice review alerted me to the presence of some completely unacceptable input lag in the “Visit Skuga Lake” portion of Even Some More Tales from Castle Balderstone. The lag was due to the autosaving system being extremely inefficient.

I realized right away that what I needed to do was rework the autosaving system from the ground up. Then I realized that would be very difficult and time-consuming.

I think what I ended up doing is pretty suitable, though. The “autosave” system is now engaged only when you save manually, or when the game prompts you (whenever you make important progress in the game). This is a very normal way for games to work, of course. It just took me a while to think of it.

I hope that anyone whose excursion to Castle Balderstone was affected by this dumb, bad problem will return to Skuga Lake and find it a much more pleasant experience.
